This photo shoot was such a fun and special day for me, it’s always such a treat photographing a family with young children – watching their personalities shine through and creating treasured memories of that snapshot in time. The time passes so quickly and when you have young children you can see the time flying by so fast that you can blink, look back and think where has it gone. Only yesterday………

A great quote I was once told by a friend with older children was ‘that days are long, but the years are short’ – this so resonated with me at the time (having 2 girls 18 months apart was a challenge at times). Now with 2 in school, I can feel how quickly those years are passing xx I hope that this finds you happy and enjoying your day xx. Thank you for dropping by and I hope to see you back here soon! ♥ Jody

♥ I hope you enjoy these beautiful images of the Fletcher Family – they are one of the most beautiful families I have had the pleasure to meet ♥

There is nothing more magical then the arrival of a new life into this amazing world! Baby Elke was a pleasure to spend time with and I thank her mummy for letting me capture her beauty. I would like to send her this little poem by Dr Seuss. It is adapted from the book, ‘Oh The Places You’ll Go’. A brilliant book for kids and one that we shared at both our girls’ naming ceremonies. Enjoy your week xxx ♥ Jody

Oh, the Places You’ll Go!

 Dr Seuss

Congratulations!

Today is your day.

You’re off to Great Places!

You’re off and away!

You have brains in your head.

You have feet in your shoes.

You can steer yourself

Any direction you choose.

You’re on your own. And you know what you know.

And YOU are the girl who’ll decide where to go.

You  won’t lag behind, because you’ll have the speed.

You’ll pass the whole gang and you’ll soon take the lead.

Wherever you fly, you’ll be best of the best.

Wherever you go, you will top all the rest.

Except when you don’t.

Because, sometimes, you won’t.

I’m sorry to say so

But, sadly, it’s true

that Bang-ups

and Hang-ups

can happen to you.

You can get all hung up

In a prickle-ly perch.

And your gang will fly on.

You’ll be left in a Lurch.

You can get so confused

that you’ll start in to race

down long wiggled roads at a break-necking pace

and grind on for miles across weirdish wild space,

headed, I fear, toward a most useless place.

The Waiting Place …

NO!

That’s not for you!

Somehow you’ll escape

All that waiting and staying.

You’ll find the bright places

where Boom Bands are playing.

So be sure when you step.

Step with care and great tact

And remember that Life’s

a Great Balancing Act.

And will you succeed?

Yes!  You will indeed!

(98 and 3/4 per cent guaranteed.)

 KlD!  YOU’LL MOVE MOUNTAINS

 So …

Today is your day!

Your mountain is waiting.

So … get on your way!

  • Jen - Thank you Jody for coming into our home to photograph our precious angel Elke. They are memories we will treasure for our life time.

Today was a day that seemed to pass by slowly, in a good way! A day I needed to get back to being me and doing what I love without the stress. We had a relaxed cook breakfast, played backyard tennis (you know the type on the pole) and lazed about with the kids: reading books and baking pear bread! Heaven!!!!!

Then Keira and I headed out for a mummy and big sis date. She was super excited to have me all to herself, not to have to share with little sis (who can be very demanding of my time). Her heart skipped and her smile was from ear to ear as Daddy dropped us off in the city and drove away with little sis, for their special outing. She kept thanking me and kissing my hand, sweet sunshine oh how I love you. She has had to share me since she was 18 months old and I sometimes forget how much she loves the 1 one 1 attention. We walked through the city trying on hats and looking at various things before finding ourselves at the GoMA. She is just like the momma (both the good and the bad) she loves art and when I asked her what she wanted to do the first thing she said was to go back to GoMA to see the We Miss You Magic Land exhibition. If you are in Brisbane with kids that enjoy art it really is a treat and well worth a visit.

I snapped these photos of her just before dinner as the sun was setting. May your week be wonderful. Enjoy  <3 <3 <3  Jody

  • Lisa Jay - Oh I think it is just lovely that she was kissing your hand & saying thank you. I have been thinking of having some one on one time with my eldest too. You have convinced me that sometimes it’s what their little hearts need. She’s a beautiful girl and you’re a good mummy.ReplyCancel

Welcome February (Hooray) and may it be better than my January 2012. After 2011 being such a high for me, 2012 started black and stayed that way for far too long. To be honest I’m not 100% back to me, but I am trying to find where it all went wrong. Maybe after such a high it is natural to feel down or low, but when on paper life should be grand and your left wondering where’s the sunshine gone in my day? You know something needs to change. At the beginning of January 2012, I started my 3rd Photo Challenge, the previous two I have done with enthusiasm and excitement, however this one felt like a chore and when faced with Day 15. Happiness I drew a blank and was left to face the reality of why? I just didn’t feel happiness in my life. Sure I could’ve taken a picture and popped it up continuing on, but that’s not me. I like to take photos of things, people, places that make my heart sing, but I just couldn’t. I really should’ve felt happiness oozing from my every pore. But I didn’t! I made a long list of why I should feel happy, to make myself feel happy, but inside to be so honest it hurts I was very grey. Popped up by a veneer of external happiness I soldiered on. Today the 1st February I’m feeling better, I’m not 100% me but I’m on the road back. Sometimes you just have to solider on. I hope you enjoy The Complete {unfinished} Gallery of my 3rd Challenge XXX May your day be filled with light even at the darkest of hour XXX Jody
