On the 2nd March this year my little blog turned 1! I am so proud of myself, which is something that is not very easy for me to say. Back in March 2011, I was full of nerves and apprehension about putting my work out there for public viewing and comment. I’m so happy to say my work has come a long way since then. However, I have very high standards and it still has a ways to go. Maybe that’s just the mark of an artist  (or reforming perfectionist) they are never fully satisfied. Always seeing room for improvement. If I keep improving I’ll be a happy camper!

Today I did a personal photo shoot to celebrate this little milestone. It’s been a while since I used my little gems as models and they loved it, plus my first few posts were of them. Sienna was her usual wary self and preferred to look on, unfortunately as she got the courage up to try and pick the butterfly up she missed her chance….it was off and free. Hence the sad face photos:) Which I adore! I must add that Daddy is overseas at the moment and I sure did miss his helping hands on this shoot. I wasn’t easy working with kids and insects. LOL note to self next time I use butterflies I will need an assistant!

    Everythign about this afternoon shoot is lovely! Your girls, the butterfly, the light and the moment captured so beautifully!

    I know where you are coming from with Daddy as assistant! When photographing my three, we take Daddy along to do all the things I can’t do whilst trying to capture that one moment. I find my own children the hardest clients to manage…..btu they are the most beautiful!

White Rabbits, White Rabbit! That is a little saying that we say in our family on the first day of each month. It’s one of those little traditions handed down that means you can’t have someone come up to you and say ‘a pinch and a punch for the first day of the month’ silly, cute but above all a little bit of fun. The kids love it, it’s always a race to see who remembers to say it first!

Today is the 1st March and with it brings the beginning of Autumn in Australia. I love how the light changes and the variation it adds to my photography. With the nod to summer I post this beautiful sequence of images I took whilst on holidays last year in Dubai.
