Living through the eyes of a child reminds you to just be in the moment, be curious, light hearted, full of excitement for the little things.  I have the absolute pleasure of working around children and it helps to keep the spark that sometimes gets dampened by the day to day chores of an adult life.

This precious sweet angle was such a joy to capture. I know she is the apple of her Mother and Father’s eye. So so precious! Thank you for inviting me into your home and into your life to capture your darling little girl.

Wishing you all a fabulous day. Many thanks for popping by xxx Jody

Today I woke up rushed around  like a mad woman packing lunches, helped dress the kids and did their hair, it was a reluctant start back to school for all involved 🙂 . It was hard restarting the well oiled machine again – the 5 days a week routine is something I love to give up for the school holidays. Alas it is over and a new term is here.

Right to get back to work, my crazy day had a wonderful start. I was thrilled that Sarah from Castle Design said she would be featuring Jody Ryan Photography on her blog, you can check it out over here! Sarah is seriously talented and has a creative flare to design that really captivates me. I would love it if you dropped by and said Hi to her.

I hope your week is truly filled with happiness. Thanks for dropping by, pop back soon. XXX Jody

This is a special post that I have been saving for just the right time. In less than 2 weeks this beautiful family will be leaving Australia bound for their home land. These photos were taken on the Gold Coast just after I discovered that Brandy + James and their gorgeous daughters were homeward bound. It was bitter sweet – so happy they will be back in America with their family and friends, so sad that they are leaving us all here in Oz. As a once expat living in the Middle East – I know how sweet and sour it is to leave your ‘home’ if only we could be in two places at one time :). Their family has enriched our lives in many ways: their enthusiasm for life, their patriotism, and their love is so very contagious. I feel fortunate that you guys have come into our life, as I know many others in this neck of the woods are too. You will be missed, and I’m sure tears will be shed! It’s never good bye, it is only take care and be safe until we see each other again soon. Enjoy your last days here and thank you for being such warm and loving friends xxx Jodes

Today I’m sharing a family photo session I did last year – yes I know!!!! I have been meaning to blog this for ages, shall we just leave it there – no excuses let’s just put it down to life …. and sometimes it can get in the way 😉

This was such a fun shoot and I love if for many reasons. I don’t have boys, however it felt like I did for a hour or so, and it was exhausting! Hats off to anyone who has boys. I also enjoyed capturing them doing what they love to do, at a time in their lives that will never be repeated. Kids grow and change so quickly and that is why I adore my job so much. To have that moment captured on film or digitally forever. On that note please, please, please if you have digital files – PRINT THEM – who knows they may not last forever and you don’t want to loose those precious moments, celebrations and milestones.

I have a question for you: When was the last time you had family photos take? Did you enjoy the experience? I would love to hear about it, feel free to share your experience with us below in the comment section.

Wishing you love and happiness today and every day. xxx Jodes

PS: A special thank you to Karla and Pete for letting me share the photos from our session together.

Today I would love to share with you a gorgeous family session I recently did. Words escape me at the beauty of this family both inside and out. I thank you for sharing the afternoon with me and for trusting me with your gorgeous boy. Oh those eyes xxxx. As I edit today I’m listening to Jack Johnson – I leave you with some of his lyrics from ‘Better together’ –

I believe in memories
They look so, so pretty when I sleep
Hey now, and when I wake up,
You look so pretty sleeping next to me
But there is not enough time,
And there is no, no song I could sing
And there is no combination of words I could say
But I will still tell you one thing
We’re better together.

Wishing you love xxx Jody
